Episode 4- There's no goth like a country goth
Okay, so Gina never went full goth. But the fact she THOUGHT about it brings all her fashion choices into question, right?
The Black Manhattan
So in a previous episode we used Amaro to make The Witty Comeback. We both really liked the flavor, plus it only comes in a giant bottle. So we looked for another recipe with it and found this amazing cocktail. Basically a Manhattan (generally whiskey or rye, bitters and vermouth) but instead of vermouth, this has Amaro! Win/win. Still not using the right style glass (are you sensing a pattern here?) but I will try to get better so I don’t get slain on social. As Milly would say, “Don’t @ me bro.”
Ingredients-
2 oz rye whiskey (we used Angel’s Envy)
1/2 oz Amaro Averna
dash orange bitters
dash Angostura bitters
maraschino cherry for garnish (I actually had a Rainier cherry instead- that’s why it’s yellow)
Instructions-
Combine rye, Averna, bitters in a mixing glass with ice; stir vigorously for about 30 seconds. Strain into a glass and add the cherry.
